News and some Steak Florentine
As you may have noticed, I haven’t been posting very often recently. Â I’ve had a crazy month and I have 2 pieces of news to share. Â First off, we moved into a new house last month, well new to us anyway, it was actually built in 1923 and has lots of quirky details. Â We did a lot of painting, cleaning, etc. and that accounts for some of my tardiness in putting up new blog posts. Â I am excited to finally be moved in and to start cooking in my new/retro kitchen! Â Here are some pictures of the new kitchen where I will be blogging from in the future:
The second exciting piece of news is that I’ve started testing recipes for an awesome new blog that showcases new cookbooks. Â The website is cooksandbooksandrecipes.com and it is a great resource for anyone, like myself, who is addicted to cookbooks or for someone new to cooking and wondering which cookbooks might be worthwhile. Â I tested my first recipe for the blog this week and it was so much fun! Â The recipe I tested was for steak Florentine ,from the cookbook Steak With Friends by Rick Tramonto. Â This steak recipe was the perfect recipe for a summer afternoon and a great new way to enjoy a steak. Â There are also tons of other great looking recipes on the website; Â I can’t wait to test some more. Â Below, I’ve posted some pictures of the steak Florentine and check in later this week for a comparison between homemade and store bought mustard.
Your new kitchen brings back fond memories of one of mine from years ago, with the same black-and-white tile, which I loved. The contrast of the yellow really brightens it up! I’m sure you’re going to be cooking lots of great food in that kitchen — and writing lots of Cook It Fresh blog posts (which I look forward to reading) in your sunny nook. Thanks for signing on with Cooks&Books&Recipes — can’t wait to see what other dishes you cook up!
LOVE your new kitchen. And I look forward to your tested recipes. What a fun blog. Can’t wait for the mustard comparison.
The kitchen was painted dark green when we first moved in, but a couple coats of white paint made it a lot more cheerful. I’m excited about making homemade mustard, too. I have never made it at home before so it is a completely new experiment!
