Merry Christmas, to all my readers and friends! As a subject-appropriate celebration of the holiday I thought I’d post some pictures of the delicious food we’ve been enjoying this season with links to the recipes so you can try out any that appeal to you. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas full of love and many blessings in the New Year to come.
Poached Shrimp with Lemon and Bay Leaves

Katie,
What lovely pictures! Happy New Year to you!
The recipes are all ones I hope to use… especially the one for shrimp as it is one that looks flavorful and Gluten Free to boot!
I also hope to use the cranberry one. It reminds me of the process for making jams and jellies from one of my favorite cookbooks, Mes Confitures.
Cranberries are very expensive here in Germany so I have been miserly and only made one recipe with the fresh ones this year.
I would really recommend the shrimp recipe; everyone enjoyed it and my mom has made it a couple times already too! I just think that cold shrimp is usually so flavorless and overpowered by dipping sauces that are served with it, but this recipe was so tender and flavorful. The cranberries are a recipe I tried for the first time a couple of years ago and now I make it every year. Cranberries can be so sour but the sugared cranberry recipe has you soak the berries in a sugar syrup for several hours and it gives them a milder taste.
